Fluffy Duck

A project I started for Nodevember - an artistic challenge spanning the month of November with daily prompts. The prompt for this day was: Fluffy

I used a bunch of tutorials from the likes of Rohan Dalvi, Side FX itself, and whatever I could find online to understand how to do fur in Houdini. I made the straight guides first then used hand drawn curves son on the surface of the model to control the direction of the fur. Then I used procedural modifiers to lift the fur and give it a more real and roughed up look.

The shading and rendering was done using Redshift.
